This blog covers mostly pop culture garbage (mid to low brow). I am interested in music, old movies, television (though I haven’t really followed a series since Buffy left the air), non fiction reading, old magazines(!), and celebrity gossip. My favorite movies as of late are Modesty Blaise, Bay of Angels and The Long Goodbye. My favorite band is The Beatles (Paul’s my favorite but I like them all) and Pavement and lots more. I love old magazines. Let me know what you think. I aim to please. I’ll flesh this part out later.
Mike.

Mike,
Superb blog! Thanks for letting me know about it.
I don’t quite get your blog, but I have a vague sense of liking it.
Thanks.
Dear Mike,
Was your brother-in-law really in Barbara Loden’s “Wanda”? I’m writing about Barbara Loden and would love to speak to him… Please email me!
Kate
Dear mike,
WTF. U writin’ my blog 4 me, man. Were U around in the 60s or R U a kid who loves my kind of stuff. Tom, Knowledge and Anon need a litt;le educating, because it’s actually better than even they think.
And I’ve only read the barbarella and Pink floyd bits! keep goin, on the great work, an’ don’t die on us man.
Yours, a totally sober davarm, except I’m high on those images!
I’m not a kid exactly (though I’m very immature) but I wasn’t alive in the sixties. Thanks for the kind words!
So glad U’re young!
The site is really alive with my era and many others 2. You seem to have caught the flavour of the sixties. That’s not unusual, but the flair U have 4 presenting certainly is !
based on the grammar of the gentleman above, I think it may be prince in disguise.
cool and important blog. keep the good work, mate.
all the best,
am
Came to your brilliant site by accident. Isn’t it great when you don’t know where your going, you always come across things you would never find if you were on map.
Interesting blog. I like the fact that it is more of a subversive pop culture blog. I just started my own blog called the “The Working class film fan”. Come check it out if you get the chance.
I’ve just been sampling this blog, and it — well — refreshes a lot of me. Interested in a lot of this!
I really enjoyed reading your blog…especially all the beatles stories and the movie articles too.
love the site mate.
Thanks a lot.
brilliant!
I stumbled upon this blog while I was doing a search on “Serge Gainsbourg” and I’m glad I did.
I’m glad you did too. Enjoy.
this is a stellar blog, it has been really inspirational to me.
Glad to hear it. I try. I should mention that this blog was largely inspired by Tom Sutpen’s If Charlie Parker… blog.
Thanks for looking.
Very good concept. The information you have put here are useful and help us to remember the variety of creative ideas one can have. Your blog should be considered a good archive for creative arts.
Thank you!
You were born in a pool of good taste. I love your blog and I don’t even read blogs…
thanks. I’m happy you’re willing to make an exception.
thanks for the daily rss entertainment
I’m happy to entertain. Thanks for stopping by.
Extremely pleasant blogging here but I can’t see where to “follow”. Am I being dense, or is this not something i can automatically follow??
Thanks
I messed with the settings and it said the changes might not kick in until I post again so maybe tomorrow. Check back and see how it goes.
Hello Mike,
I wonder if I could talk to you about one of the images on your site and where you sourced it; the one of Veronica Lake in a munitions factory. I work at a publisher and we’re interested in using it… Drop me an email.
Great stuff man I enjoyed it!
Thanks, Mother Superior.
Not sure what I’m looking at yet but I think I like it.
Keep looking then. Thanks.

Found blog. Lost afternoon. I love it.
Your blog puts the gloss back in old magazine clippings. Nice to know I’m not the only bizarre person with a liking towards things of this kind. Thanks!
Thank you
I love the pics and especially the one of Moura Budberg as a party guest. Do you know how I would be able to obtain a copy as I am writing her biography.
Thanks
Deborah McDonald
Thanks. Unfortunately I haven’t a clue. I got the photo from an issue of Sight and Sound from around the time of Accident’s original UK release. I’m not sure which issue exactly. I can track that down if you think that would be helpful.
Mike,
Do you, by any chance, have a functioning email address?
chained (Mike) — it took your recent gunslinging for me to find you here.
This place hits me where I live. Excellent!
Cool, Thanks.
I’m happy you like it. I really like what you’re doing over at …Charlie Parker…Keep up the good work!
Hi, I came across your site and wasn’t able to get an email address to contact you. Would you please consider adding a link to my website on your page. Please email me back.
Thanks!
Madison
I’m not sure why I’m assuming that this is not spam but here goes:
Drop the link here and I’ll add it as long as it is even slightly similar to what is covered here.
Hi, Mike. I’m researching a PhD on Joseph Losey and came across your blog while looking for production sketches. I see you have Modesty Blaise up there with your favourite films – good man! I’m trying to get back to work, but it’s tempting just to hang around and explore your lovely blog some more. Cheers, Peter, Belfast
Thanks a lot, Peter!
Enjoy your postings very much.
