  1. Have you seen the “new” Lolita film with Jeremy Irons? Kubricks version is (because of the time it was made in) a lot tamer then the newer one. I like both but Jeremy is so amazing that I think I prefer the newer one…

You know, I’ve been meaning to see that one since it came out. I’ll add it to the netflix queue.

  2. when did the new one come out and who r the stars

I’ve never bothered with it but the “new” one came out in 1997 and starred Jeremy Irons, Melanie Griffith, Dominique Swain and Frank Langella in the roles that you’d imagine. Either the film is somehow more explicit or the U.S. is somehow more uptight now than it was in 62 because the film received an all-but-direct-to-video release after a debut on Showtime.

  3. “Uptight”? What are you a boomer?

If “uptight” means we’d rather not view porno movies about pervs who prey on teenage girls then, yes, we’re “uptight.”

  4. @jason
LOL considering the movie is nothing like that, yeah, you’re uptight

Funny thing is Jason most likely came on this post by googling Sue Lyon or Lolita. Then he calls one (or maybe both) of the Lolita movies a porno?! What sense does that make?
