Piece: Yves Saint Laurent “Mondrian” day dress, autumn 1965. Wool jersey in color blocks of white, red, blue, black, and yellow.

  1. Deneuve always wore YSL, and probably that one.
    There’s probably a photo to be found somewhere.
    At the time, and in context, it was wild and fresh and exciting.
    Yves and Valentino, the last of the Paris guys to make dresses which made a woman look good.
    Galliano is more textile ART than gowns.

    OK, maybe Lacroix did lovely, but he has crashed now.
