Happy Days are Here Again! What a fine historical and cultural treasure this picture is. I have *never* seen it before. I do not believe that Ken Burns uncovered and included this foto in his wonderful ‘Prohibition’ documentary. I will need to re-watch it to make sure.
I think I found this in W.C. Fields by Himself. It’s a pretty great compilation of Fields’ writings put together by his grandson.
